Ubair Yaseen Shah is a research scholar at the department of Geoinformatics, in the University of Kashmir and is currently working as project associate in the CoE. His research interests include understanding the behaviour and dynamics, Glacial-geomorphology of Himalayan glaciers and reconstruction of paleo-glaciation, especially of Kashmir Himalayan region, employing various remote sensing techniques complemented by field investigations in response to climate variability. He is an experienced trekker and mountaineer and has visited a number of glaciers across Kashmir and Zanskar valley for the collection of field based observations on different glaciers. Currently his research is focused on the glaciological, geodetic and geo-chronological approaches for understanding glacier dynamics of the Hoksar glacier in the Kashmir valley.
