Ummer Ameen has received bachelor’s degree in sciences in year 2013, master’s degree in Geoinformatics in 2017, and currently pursuing Ph.D in the field of Glaciology from department of Geoinformatics. His research interests include Glacier dynamics, such as glacier mass changes, thickness changes, glacier velocity etc and quantifying dynamic behaviour of Himalayan glaciers in order to assess their variations, potential response and impact in the context of global climate change. His research is based on remote sensing and in-situ glaciological and morphological investigations.
