Tariq Abdullah, received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences in 2011, masters in Geoinformatics in 2014 and PhD in Geoinformatics (Glaciology) in 2021. He has been awarded the University Gold Medal for securing first position in order of merit in Master’s program in Geoinformatics, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences University of Kashmir. He was awarded the INSPIRE fellowship by Department of Science and Technology, GoI in 2015 to peruse PhD in Geoinformatics.
His research interests of include monitoring Himalayan Glaciers using state-of-the-art Earth observation data and ground observations: modelling dynamics, mass balance and glacier-climate interaction with geographical focus on the Himalayan region. He is currently working as HoD, Department of Planning & Geomatics . IUST, Awantipora
